The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Okay, so hands down...the best X-Mas movie of all time is Elf.
I ABSOLUTELY love this movie. Every part of it. It makes me stupid happy.

[Source.]

My friend from school and I have been yell singing it in the parking lot the past few days.
Her - VALLLARIEEEE...I'm here with my DADDDDD ANNNDD I'MM SINNNGGINNNGGG.
Me - I'MMM SINNNGGGGINNNNNG. DADDDYYYYYY. AND I LOVE YOU.
Her - I LOVE YOU. I LOVVEEE YOUUUUUUUUU.

Awesome, I know.

The movie has the best quotes ever in it too...
Buddy -- "We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup."
Buddy -- "You stink. You smell like beef and cheese! You don't smell like Santa. "
Buddy --  "It's just nice to meet another human that shares my affinity for elf culture."
Buddy --  "First we'll make snow angels for a two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookiedough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle.

Almost a train wreck...Gingerbread Style.

The spawn and I spent a good amount of time on Saturday creating a Gingerbread Town for X-Mas.
The girl spawn had the tall house, the boy spawn had the short big house, and I had the train.

That train.../grumble.
The Engine/Cab/Front of the train, [I am really not sure which of those is correct] existed solely to piss me off. I glued it together with the frosting like I was supposed to and let it dry for a bit. I stacked them on top of each other figuring the pressure would help, which on the cars seemed to work out perfectly. The Engine/Cab/Front fell apart repeatedly. I grumbled a lot, but we had fun making them. Here are the pics.

The Boy Spawn's House.

The Girl Spawn's House (she got bored after doing such ornate work on the top)

And my train. [I won't mind if it magically comes to life and chugga chugga choo choo's right off the edge into a giant gingerbread mess, not one bit.]

Title Goes Here

I haven't posted in a month?
Really?
Wow.

There is entirely too much that has me distracted as hell which means I don't blog. I went through about a week or two of not even checking the list of blogs I try to read daily on Bloglovin'. Fail.

School is going well. I have a new instructor. Cakes and Cake Assembly. I have to create a torte for a final grade in the class. Write a huge report on it -- the whys, the hows, the whats. Then I have to bake it. Oh, I also have to maintain a notebook that is due at the end of class, which is a brilliant idea in my opinion. I rather wish we had been doing it the whole time. The notebook has to contain all of our recipes we make in class, syllabus, powerpoints, notes we take, conversions, etc. It will be awesome to look back on it for reference when I want to bake something.

I bought The Flavor Bible. This book....geesh. It is pretty amazing for putting combining flavors that will taste well together. I bought it for the aforementioned torte I have to create and just figured it was a good investment.

I am also reading a book called My Life From Scratch by Gesine Bullock-Prado. It was formerly published under the title "Confections of a Closet Master Baker" <----LAWL! That is just pure genius. Unsure as to why she changed the title, but then I haven't really investigated any either. I love how she writes, how she includes a detailed recipe at the end of each chapter, and how she just lays it out there. She has her own blog as well -- G Bakes - Confections of a (Closet) Master Baker.
